Powerpoint presentations detail the horrors of climate change on the Arctic.  The most popular presentation reveals climate change impacts through Author Chad Kister's epic 700-mile journey by foot and raft from the oil development of Prudhoe Bay into and throughout the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.  In working to get the message out through direct communication and media coverage, the Arctic Refuge Defense Campaign is doing its small part in the ever growing environmental movement that is working to solve the climate crisis and create a much nicer, cleaner and pollution-free world in the process.  Kister strives to minimize his environmental footprint, traveling mostly by train and bus to get the message as far and wide as possible with minimal fossil fuel use.

The record ice melt in the summer of 2007 shows that we are clearly in abrupt climate change, and we cannot wait for action.  We must mobilize like we did for World War II immediately to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through efficiency, wind, solar, waste methane energy development, geothermal, small scale hydro, wave, tidal and other renewable energy sources.  Nuclear and corn-based ethanol are not a solution.
